Accept Help
How often do we say, “No thanks. I’m OK,” when we are offered help?
Too often.
We could all use an extra set of hands, so why do we feel the need to pretend we don’t?
Think for a moment about a time you’ve watched children play at the playground. Maybe someone needed a hand to reach that last step at the top of the slide. Or a gentle push on the swings. Children accept these gentle nudges and pushes and they all celebrate in glee at what they are able to accomplish. Oh, how we could learn from the simplicity of their trust.
In our village, it is an undeniable fact that we want what’s best for each other. So the next time someone offers a meal, a ride, a compliment— accept it. We were meant to share in this together.
